| How
protected is my survey data... What about the responses to my survey? Our system has been used by government organizations, corporations, and universities worldwide. Hundreds of users have collected sensitive data involving many different context situations. Dissertations have been done for studies of disadvantaged and "at risk" populations including physical and dependency abuse for adults and children. Needless to say these are extremely confidential studies that have passed the highest level of scrutiny from human subjects committees. In addition, governments of the United States, Australia and Canada have approved the system for use by their organizations. Our system maintains data behind a firewall and all data is accessed only by the owner of the survey who must provide password and user-id. All pieces of data are keyed to that owner identification and cannot be accessed by anyone else. Internet security reports show that most instances where sensitive data is compromised occur when the owners share a password and not from issues involving system security. Password Protected Surveys When you enable the Password Protection option, every respondent that comes to take your survey will be presented with a dialog box for entering a password that you specify. They will only be allowed to take the survey if they enter in the Password that you have supplied. SSL (Secure Socket Layer) An additional dimension of data collection is the use of secure transmission of the data being collected. If extreme confidentiality of transmitted data is required, SSL encryption is offered as an option (at additional cost). Access to My Results To enable display of results, you have the ability to publish your results (Real Time) online. When you select the option to publicly display your results, those knowing the internet address (URL) of your survey results will be able to view them. They are not published or announced to the public. Public access to your survey results may also be password protected so that only those to whom you provide the password can view your results. When the Password option is selected, users coming to view the results will be prompted to enter the "viewing" password you have entered. Are My Respondents E-Mail Addressed Accessed? This is a common question given that so many companies sell their name lists. The answer is an unequivocal NO! Your data and your respondent lists are your own and no one will access or make use of your information. E-mail addresses are not reused or sold. |
